Remember the ultra-thin LG X300 notebook we first laid our hands on back at CES 2010?
Well, as promised, LG has confirmed that the gorgeous-looking system will be making its way to retail later this month - though, only in select markets.
According to the South Korean manufacturer, the X300 will initially become available in Asia, the Middle East and South America. Unfortunately, there's no mention of European availability as yet, but LG has shed a little more light on the system's hardware specification.
The X300 features an 11.6in display offering a 1,366x768 resolution, and is powered by a 2GHz Intel Atom Z550 processor and up to 2GB of memory. 128GB of storage capacity is provided by a solid-state drive, and Microsoft's Windows 7 Home Premium is LG's operating system of choice.
Measuring just 17.5mm thick and weighing only 970g, it's a truly-portable solution for the style-conscious consumer, and LG offers a choice of two colour schemes; Shiny White and Light Brown.
A fan-less, "silent operation" design is one of the highlights, but LG remains vague in regards to battery life, stating only that the X300 "ships with a spare two-cell battery to provide up to seven hours of use". We reckon that means each battery pack will provide around three-and-a-half hours of usage in a best-case scenario.
Other features include a 1.3 megapixel webcam and 3G connectivity, but what you really want to know is the price. Whilst there's no confirmation of UK pricing - or indeed whether or not we'll ever see it on our shores - LG has the X300 priced at ₩1,590,000 Korean Won, equating to around £950. Ouch.
