Toshiba has announced the availability of the Portégé X30 laptop in North America. This is the latest version of Toshiba's popular ultraportable laptop family. The new Portégé X30 features a 13.3-inch screen, measures just 15.9mm thick and weighs 1.04Kg. Despite its svelte physical form it can pack potent computing power with up to an Intel Core i7 (Kaby Lake), up to 16GB of RAM, and a PCIe SSD up to 512GB in capacity.
The new Toshiba Portégé X30 is both significantly thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Toshiba will be selling the Portégé X30 directly in pre-built configurations and with build-to-order configurations too. The starting price is $1,449, and for this sum you will get the following pre-built spec:
- Intel Core i5-7300U Processor, Intel vPro
- 8GB DDR4 2133 MHz
- 256GB M.2 PCIe Solid State Drive
The top pre-built model, costing $1,899, boasts of an:
- Intel Core i7-7600U Processor
- 16GB DDR4 2133 MHz
- 512GB M.2 PCIe Solid State Drive (SSD)
Whichever model you choose you get a 13.3-inch 1920 x 1080 screen. The above two pre-built models include a touch screen. All models have Intel HD Graphics 620, DTS Studio Sound, Harman/Kardon speakers, Synaptics Fingerprint Reader, Face Authentication, HDMI port , Spill-Resistant Raised Tile Backlit Keyboard, Touch pad with Multi-touch, AccuPoint II Pointing Device, 1x USB 3.0, 2x USB 3.1 Type-C (supporting Thunderbolt 3 and power delivery), HD+ IR Webcam with TruTalk Dual Microphones (Windows Hello support), Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 and Bluetooth, Intel Ethernet Connection i219-LM (10/100/1000), TPM 2.0, microSD card reader, and a 3 cell 48Wh battery.
A new Toshiba Thunderbolt 3 Dock is compatible with the laptop providing further ports and expansion options including the ability to use up to the three 4K monitors simultaneously.
Toshiba's magnesium chassis constructed Portégé X30 laptops all come with a 3 year warranty (1 year for battery).
