A cascade of graphics cards made their presence felt this week. With NVIDIA's Fermi architecture percolating down into the GTX 550 Ti family, it was Gigabyte's factory-overclocked effort that faced our ready-and-willing assault course. In determining that the GTX 550 Ti has potential, we played the role of bean-counter, to deliver our own thoughts on an ideal mainstream price structure.

With NVIDIA already proclaiming the overclocking potential of the GTX 550 Ti, it wasn't surprising to see efforts from ASUS, KFA2 and MSI all whipping up a storm with custom cooling solutions and showroom-fresh overclocks to distil as much performance as possible.

Ending the week, we gave the GTX 550 Ti an opportunity to find its footing and discovered how it blends into NVIDIA's GeForce ecosystem. Up in the higher echelons though, with AMD already having played its hand with the HD 6990, the GTX 590 is apparently readying itself for full bloom, and we dished up the latest titbits and surmised just who may walk off with the performance crown.

Social networking is now in the driving seat according to reports and has pushed the entertainment category out of the way, when it comes to our online pursuits. Meanwhile, Internet Explorer 9 - Microsoft's latest enriched browser offering - has gone with its hunch by generating some good numbers in the downloads lottery.

Increased demand for live TV streaming through BBC's iPlayer service, suggests that our hunger pangs for quality entertainment and media content continue unabated and on this note, we offered some musings on the announcement that ISPs are set to voluntarily lend out the mirror of transparency, by detailing traffic management policies in the summer.

On the topic of satiation, we flirted with Cubitek's latest foray into the chassis marketplace, fumbled around with Enermax's NAXN and took a gander at Western Digital's domineering 6TB external storage ideas too. With AMD reportedly releasing the artist within, Dell's Inspiron R has become a master at makeovers in the process.

Microsoft reportedly may have bitten off more Apple than it could chew, HP has discovered an interest in clouds and to continue with the creative brainstorm, G.Skill is toying with a military theme.

Its been quite a week!
