A trio of “big surprises” is being planned over the next 12 months by Half Life developer, Valve Corporation, reports the new issue of PC Gamer magazine.

"I can guarantee you people are going to be surprised at stuff we do. That isn't going to stop any time soon. I'm just laughing because... people will be shocked again," says Valve head Gabe Newell in the latest issue of the magazine.

"We have three pretty big surprises in the next 12 months at least."

A resurgence of the Counter-Strike franchise perhaps, or could it be the fabled Half Life 3, which was rumoured to materialise at E3 this year but didn’t? A brand new I.P. perhaps?

Ooh…this should be fun. I think there must be some new stuff otherwise they're just re-doing old franchises. CS:S is still popular enough to be left to it, TF2/L4D2/Portal are all covered currently. That leaves HL but a gap for 2 more. Hmm..
Portal 2, Portal 2, Portal 2, Portal 2, Portal 2, Portal 2
They'll announce an upcoming announcement.
The upcoming announcement will announce HL2:EP3
Then they'll release HL2:EP3 as a mac exclusive ;)

I think if they did that they'd have to have bloody good defences on all their servers and HQ's :p

I thikn they'll be releasing a new update to the steam client that makes Glados become self aware, with all announcements being made by the TF2 announcer.
All I can say is knowing Valve, I'll believe it when I see it
