Nvidia's GeForce 7900GT just got even more interesting, with VIVO support and a naming scheme from XFX that makes an unprecidented amount of sense.
XFX have created the 'M' series, 7900GT cards with added VIVO support for the would-be video editors out there; we wonder how a card like the 7900GT would work with 3D accelerated app like Tenomichi's 3D Edit... probably pretty damn well. There's one dual-link DVI output too, for some phat LCD screenage (translation: high resolution displays.)
XFX have also done some playing around with the components of the card, changing the PCB colour to black (which goes with everything, doesn't it?) and making the DVI connectors green, not the mention the XFX-esque support bar along the top of the card.
All that pales in comparison to the best part of the M series, however, which is a naming scheme that's so simple, it's actually possible to understand it! So the GeForce 7900GT 450M is an M series with a GPU clocked at 450MHz, while the 520M is clocked at 520MHz. Goodness me, they might be onto something here! And yes, that does mean there are a range of M series cards coming in at different clocks. Take a look at them all in the table at the end of XFX's press release.
