Low, low, low
You may be wondering what I'm doing posting at this hour. The truth is that I'm finishing off writing about two graphics cards from AMD. It's no secret that the Radeon HD 6850 and HD 6870 cards will be launching early tomorrow morning, and you will be able to read all about what makes them tick and how they compare against a glut of other mid-price cards. The press is bound by a non-disclosure agreement to not directly release pricing or specifications. The same NDA doesn't apply to well-known retailers, however, as a number have jumped the gun and listed the two Radeon 6000-series cards already.
Ebuyer has the keenest pre-order pricing in the UK, it seems, and here's why:
This is a screen-grab from a (currently) active page. If the pricing holds true, the Radeon HD 6850 will be an absolute steal. Wait a few hours to find out why. Meanwhile, the Radeon HD 6870's retail listing for £176 is also keener than predicted by AMD.
NVIDIA's already moved its GeForce GTX 460 and GTX 470 pricing once today. It may have to do it again if the new Radeons do indeed come in at these unexpectedly low levels.
