ASUS Bravo 9500

ASUS really wasn't kidding when it said it had a card to meet the demands of every DIY PC enthusiast.

The last of its newly-unveiled cards is the ASUS Bravo 9500, a solution that's based on NVIDIA's GeForce 9500 GT and aimed squarely at the HTPC crowd.

Making this one unique is what ASUS calls "Splendid Plus" technology. Using a bundled light sensor, Splendid Plus will detect the ambient light levels in a room and adjust screen brightness accordingly. ASUS reckons that'll ensure "optimal visual comfort and accurately-reproduced colours".

Without going into detail, ASUS also tells us that the card is 28 per cent more power efficient than a reference GeForce 9500 GT. Sounds useful, but we reckon it really needs to be passive to appeal to the die hard HTPC user. Here's the complete spec:

It's just a shame that some of these companies that apparently cater for “all diy pc” enthusiasts don't cater for the smaller shuttle cases xD

I can barely fit an 8800GTS in mine let alone a GTX
gtx 285 looks great.
That 4890 has a 6pin and an 8pin power connector - the 4890s are only meant to have 2x6-pin? Does this mean it's actually more like a 4890x2… (please say yes)

No. Its just like the Gainward 4850 cards that have 2x6 pins i think, probably due to the overclock they had at stock and what you could possibly achieve with them.
Haha the Formula 1 card. What are they thinking. Nice though!
