ATI's partners line up to take advantage of R680 chipset

ATI's Radeon HD 3870 X2 has claimed the performance crown over rival NVIDIA by combining two Radeon HD 3870s in crossfire form on a single card.

Taking full advantage of ATI's R680 chipset, ATI's long list of partners are now launching their range of HD 3870 X2 cards. First up, Club 3D and Sapphire.

Both cards feature a dual-slot configuration, 1GB of GDDR3 memory and enough grunt to label them both as potentially "faster than any other series out there". In terms of competition among one another, Sapphire takes the lead on paper with a GPU clock of 825MHz, compared to Club 3D's 775 MHz.
