We've managed to take some sneaky pictures of a motherboard designed for Intel's up-coming Dempsey CPU. The board has two LGA 771 sockets which means (obviously) that it can accommodate two Dempsey processors.
Dempsey will be a dual-core Xeon, featuring 2MiB of L2 cache per core and hyperthreading...
That means eight logical processors will be presented to the CPU, through just two physical packages. It'll be interesting to see how heavy I/O operations will hold up.
