If custom cooling is something you're interested in for your graphics card, Arctic has announced its Accelero XTREME Plus II.

Comprising of eighty-three aluminium fins, five 6mm heat-pipes and a trio of 92mm fans, Arctic's solution is rated for graphics cards churning out a TDP of up to 250W. The VRM and onboard memory chips are not neglected - courtesy of included heatsinks - and fan speed is controlled by PWM to sit within the 900 to 2,000RPM region.

As for compatibility, the Accelero XTREME Plus II has it covered for single-GPU AMD Radeon HD cards ranging from the 2900XT, through to the 6970 and single-GPU NVIDIA GeForce cards, ranging from the 7800 GT to the GTX 580. An additional accessories set is required for certain GTX 200 and 400 series cards, but Arctic tells us that if need be, it will develop new mounting kits to accommodate future graphics cards.

Weighing in at 0.9kg, the Accelero XTREME Plus II comes with a 6-year warranty and an MSRP of €64.90.

when are we going to have a model that vents hot air from the case….

Arctic seem to be peddling the same old idea…. just bigger, and not necessarily “better.”

+1. My worry is that this might be patented… although my memory is that Arctic themselves used to do it.
Also, $65 (£50??) seems pretty steep… i can't imagine this being justified on anything less than a £200 card. Oh well, horses for courses i suppose.
Most stock coolers on high-end cards do it so I don't see why not. But the centrifugal fans used in those coolers do tend to be louder and in a well-ventilated case the extra heat shouldn't be too much of a problem.
AC's new products are based on adding more fans…. what happened to good old days of passive cooling ?
Graphics card TDP happened.
