Current issue has demo of Windows XP dual-booting on Intel-based Mac mini
SAN FRANCISCO -- March 21, 2006 -- Pixel Corps, the global guild for aspiring and professional digital craftsman, today announced the company is producing “MacBreak,” a bi-monthly high-quality broadband program dedicated to both novice and professional Apple computer users. Hosted by Mac experts Leo Laporte, Amber MacArthur, Alex Lindsay and Emery Wells, “MacBreak” will provide its audience with innovative advice and instruction ranging from the latest hardware and software to interviews with some of the most interesting people in the Mac universe.
Already receiving top-ratings from listeners, “MacBreak’s” fifth episode is available today at http://www.macbreak.com, which will include a demonstration on how to install Windows XP on an Intel-based Mac mini.
"I've been trying for years to get TechTV and other networks to do a show for Mac fanatics like me,” said Leo Laporte, renowned technology guru and host for TechTV Canada. “Finally I gave up and decided to do it myself. “MacBreak” is the TV show I always wanted to do, only better!"
“MacBreak” is produced by television professionals and hosted by well-respected television and radio host, Leo Laporte. Laporte also hosts one of the most popular technology Podcasts in the country, “This Week in Tech,” along with “Call for Help,” which airs on TechTV/G4 Canada. “MacBreak” also features Mac expert Alex Lindsay, a former digital artist for ILM and regular contributor to TechTV’s “Call for Help.”
“’MacBreak’ is setting new boundaries for broadcast delivery just as the iPod and Podcasting broke barriers for audio and video delivery,“ said Alex Lindsay, founder of Pixel Corps. “’MacBreak’ will demonstrate that quality programming can be produced and delivered to video iPod, PSP and computer users via the Internet without having to go through broadcast or cable television networks.
Through BitTorrent, peer-to-peer file transferring software, “MacBreak” will be able to bypass traditional networks and deliver a 1080p show for true HD resolution, free of charge, to a world-wide audience. Contrary to traditional broadcast programs, viewers will be able to download episodes onto their computers, portable gaming devices and multi-media cellular phones, which will provide them with complete control over how and when they view “MacBreak.”
Pricing and availability
“MacBreak” episodes are free and available for download now through “MacBreak’s” website at: http://www.macbreak.com. For more information on “MacBreak,” please visit the program’s website at: http://www.macbreak.com.
