“As software becomes more complex, particularly games, PCs have been equipped with faster chips making them progressively louder over the years. The Voodoo F:50 is deadly silent,” said Desmond Brown, Director of Business Development for VoodooPC. “The noise level of the F:50 is below 20dB and virtually undetectable.”
PCs have several noise sources, making most systems at 50 to 60 decibels. The power unit that provides power to the motherboard, hard drive and components, the central processing units (CPUs), and video cards have fans that cause noise. Additionally, today’s computers house an average of seven to nine fans, resulting in as many potential points of failure. The F-50 uses an aggressive heat pipe liquid hybrid cooling system; through standard convection it whisks heat away from all the core components in the system.
“Who says you need nine fans to have a fast PC!” said Rahul Sood, President and CTO of VoodooPC. “Our biggest challenge was to ensure that the system had enough cooling to the components when they’re stressed. If it’s something we’re good at, it’s stressing a system until it either dies or passes our quality control.”
