We are proud to announce that HighPoint RocketRAID 4500 Series Hardware RAID HBA's are fully compatible with ultra-high capacity hard drive formats ranging from 4Kn through 512e and 512.
In addition, we have released two new storage-intensive RAID features for the OS X operating system: OCE/ORLM and DVMode Performance Assurance Technology.
Ultra-high Capacity Drive Format Support
Ultra-High Capacity storage devices, such as 8TB SAS and SATA hard disk drives, are a major breakthrough for the storage industry. However, customers should be aware that these gigantic drives utilize different Drive Formats- 4Kn, 512e or 512.
HighPoint is proud to announce that our SAS 6Gb/s Hardware RAID solutions are now fully compatible with each drive format. Our customers can now seamlessly integrate new 4Kn, 512e or 512 drives into existing RAID configurations, and tailor storage systems to meet the changing demands of high-density storage applications.
DVMode Performance Assurance Technology
HighPoint has introduced DVMode; an innovative caching algorithm designed for Media rich storage applications. Customers can specify which RAID array will utilize DVMode in a RAID Storage System. After enabling DVMode, I/O commands will be reorganized to follow the order of the array's disk LBA; the RocketRAID controller firmware will minimize the latency time of write-back caching workflows.
New for Mac OS X - OCE/ORLM: Advanced Storage Expansion
RocketRAID 4500 Series Hardware RAID HBA's now support OCE (Online Capacity Expansion) and OLRM (Online RAID Level Migration) for Mac OS X platforms. These features have been integrated into the latest version of our WebGUI management interface- a comprehensive and intuitive web-based management tool available for the OS X operating system.

Customers can now seamlessly integrate additional high-capacity hard disks into existing RAID configurations, and add security by migrating to RAID 1, 5 or 10, without having to start from scratch - existing data will remain intact and fully accessible!
