ThunderboltTM PCIe Expansion chassis are designed to support many separate PCIe cards in a single enclosure. While versatile, these solutions divide the 20Gb/s of ThunderboltTM bandwidth across multiple I/O cards. Customers with specific storage requirements will have to sacrifice transfer performance, or invest in multiple chassis, and dedicate each to a specific function. ThunderboltTM 2 Hardware RAID Adapter
The RocketStor 6328 ThunderboltTM RAID adapter was designed specifically for high-performance applications that require hardware RAID for SAS or SATA storage via Mini-SAS and eSATA connectivity. The dual Mini-SAS ports can directly support up to 8 SAS/SATA hard drives, up to 20 via SAT Port-Multiplier enclosures and as many as 128 via SAS Expansion chassis, in hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 50 and JBOD configurations. In addition to HDD/SSD RAID arrays, LTO Tape support is now available for OS X 10.9.x and later!

The RocketStor 6328L and 6324L are the easiest and quickest way to upgrade existing SATA storage for use with ThunderboltTM 2 platforms, and deliver significant performance and capacity advantages over ThunderboltTM hubs, which offer half the storage capability and only 10Gb/s of transfer bandwidth. Designed to support JBOD configurations, these low-cost, high-performance storage adapters provide 20Gb/s of uncompromised transfer bandwidth and are capable of supporting up to eight SATA hard drives or SSD's via eSATA and Mini-SAS connectivity.
