London, UK - 15 July 2014: Freecom announces three new solid state drives (SSDs) for those looking to take full advantage of the shock-resistance virtues that SSDs provide while benefiting from rugged data storage devices with high performance and sophisticated sleek design. Freecom unveils the mSSD, a mini solid state drive with USB 3.0 connectivity that has data transfer speeds of up to 430MB/s* - making it one of the fastest external micro-SSDs available in the market and at least four times faster than standard hard disk drives. Being an SSD, it also has all the other benefits of this technology compared to hard disk drives; with no moving parts it is silent during operation, it also uses less power and is far more durable.
Significantly smaller (by volume) and lighter than a golf ball, the Freecom mSSD weighs in at just 29g and measures 80mm x 35mm x 9mm (L x W x H) to strike a very appealing balance between portability and performance. With an elegant brushed aluminium enclosure which mirrors the stylish exterior of Macbooks, users also benefit from a very sleek appearance.
The Freecom mSSD is available in 256GB (product reference: 56314) with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of £239.00.

Freecom has added SSDs to its Mobile Drive Mg family. Offering 128GB and 256GB capacities, all the SSD models feature USB 3.0 connectivity with the top-of-the-range 256GB model also featuring a Thunderbolt interface for convenient and fast data transfer.
Named after the chemical symbol for the magnesium used to enclose the device, the Freecom Mg SSD delivers data transfer speeds of up to 415MB/s*.
The Freecom Mobile Drive Mg SSD 128GB version weighs 132g and is slim at 120mm x 81mm x 10mm (L x W x H). The 256GB SSD model with Thunderbolt connectivity weighs 175g with a dimension of 129mm x 81mm x 129mm (L x W x H).
Freecom's Mobile Drive Mg SSD has an MSRP of £125.00 for the 128GB model (product reference: 56293), £245.00 for the 256GB model (product reference: 56294) and £310.00 for the 256GB model with USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt interface (product reference: 56273). All drives come with a USB 3.0 connection cable while a Thunderbolt cable is also supplied with the top range model that's also housed in a durable protective case with soft lining.

Freecom's Tough Drive SSD (product reference: 56275) is a competitively priced 256GB solid state drive (SSD) model within its prized Tough Drive family. It is IP55 rated, meaning that it is resistant to water and is dust proof. Built around an internal anti-shock frame which makes it resilient to drops from up to 4 meters, and further protected by a scratch-proof silicone cover that looks attractive and provides additional grip, the Tough Drive SSD delivers super-fast transfer speeds of up to 415MB/s*.
This latest Tough Drive features a small, integrated USB 3.0 dongle which slots neatly into the unit when not in use and can be easily flipped out when connected, a feature that avoids misplacing a separate cable.
Freecom's Tough Drive SSD is lightweight at 180g and compact at just 140mm x 80mm x 19mm (L x W x H) so it can easily be slipped into a pocket or case and taken around with users wherever they go.
