PRESS RELEASE
Kaspersky ONE provides complete security for Windows PCs, Macs, smartphones and Android tablets - designed around the user not the product
Abingdon, UK, 21 September 2011 - In response to the increased security risk faced by people as they juggle more than one computer gadget, Kaspersky Lab has launched Kaspersky ONE, the world's first ‘universal security' solution that protects users regardless of how they live their digital life. By protecting consumers, whether they use desktops, laptops, smartphones or Android-based tablets, Kaspersky ONE is the first step in securing the wider digital user experience, not just the device. Kaspersky ONE will be available for purchase in the UK and Ireland from October 18, 2011.
In today's technology-enabled world, owning a number of internet-enabled devices or computers has become commonplace. Whatever we use them for, it is likely that between them they store a large amount of personal information, including passwords, home addresses, web browsing history and photos. For many people installing comprehensive security is an afterthought, which can leave all that personal information unprotected and vulnerable to cybercriminals and malicious software.
With Kaspersky ONE, users only have to think about security once. Created by Europe's leading developer of IT security software, Kaspersky ONE is the first product available that represents a universal, one-stop-shop for personal security, protecting any combination of PCs, Macs, Android tablets and smartphones.
"Your personal information is immensely valuable to cybercriminals, and very precious to you," said Eugene Kaspersky, CEO and Founder, Kaspersky Lab. "Keeping it safe requires adequate security and we appreciate that for many casual IT users, selecting and installing the right security software can seem quite a daunting prospect. That is why we developed Kaspersky ONE. With Kaspersky ONE Universal Security, you can easily protect all your IT kit with a single, simple solution. We draw on our market-leading expertise to keep abreast with the latest threats and risks, leaving you free to enjoy the features and capability of your latest gadgets."
Users can select from a three or five device option. The ‘five-device' Kaspersky ONE license would protect, for example: a home desktop, two laptops and two smartphones; or two tablets, two smartphones and a Mac; or two laptops, two smartphones and one tablet. Users can change the set-up as they upgrade and change their devices.
Kaspersky ONE is compatible with devices running Windows® or Mac OS X®, Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile (6.5 and below) or BlackBerry smartphones and Android-based tablets.
It will be available from October 18 from Amazon, Dixon Retail and Best Buy in the UK and Ireland. Kaspersky ONE will be available globally from early 2012.
One-year licenses of Kaspersky ONE can be purchased for £59.99 for three devices and £79.99 for five devices.
