More than 400 regional distributors chose the winners via online voting
Abingdon, 12th March 2009 - Kaspersky Lab has been named Software Vendor of the Year by the ЕМЕА Channel Academy.
The awards ceremony was held during the DISTREE XXL 2009 conference in Monte Carlo. More than 400 regional distributors participated in online voting in real time to choose the best vendors in eight categories. Besides the EMEA Software Vendor of the Year award that went to Kaspersky Lab, titles were received by such respected companies as Asus, Apple, Intel, Microsoft and HP.
"The company's business in the EEMEA region - which for Kaspersky Lab means our regions across Western Europe as well as Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa - is growing dynamically", says Andreas Lamm, Managing Director Kaspersky Lab Europe. "Our antivirus solutions are selling successfully in all the countries of the regions, and I believe that the award from the regional distributors, who know the market better than anyone else, is the best kind of recognition for our achievements."
This year the EMEA Channel Academy Awards ceremony in 20 nominations was held for the first time and took place in Monte Carlo during the DISTREE XXL 2009 conference. Until recently, DISTREE was held regionally - in Central/ Eastern Europe and Middle East/ Africa. However, a few years ago the decision was taken to merge them and add Western Europe. The new format was named DISTREE XXL. Distributors from over 80 countries take part in the forum.
