Fastest Wireless AC Cloud router brings unsurpassed network speeds, guaranteed high-bandwidth connectivity and touch screen set-up
London, 10th July, 2014 - To meet the performance demands of online gamers and avid film and TV fans, D-Link has launched its fastest Wireless AC router, the Wireless AC1900 Dual-Band Cloud Router (DIR-880L). It brings combined wireless speeds of up to 1900Mbps through concurrent bands, up from 1750Mbps.
The Wireless AC1900 router is the first to feature D-Link's new touch-optimised web interface, which quickly takes users through the set-up process. This makes it possible for convenient set-up from a Smartphone or tablet, without the need for an installation CD.
Plus, all settings are also fully configurable through the intuitive touch screen interface. For example, parents can filter their children's web access by time - cutting it off after a certain time in the evening - or preventing access to specified websites. This puts parents in control of Internet usage in their household and helps them to protect their children.
The router is mydlinkTM-enabled, so users can easily access and view their home network from a mobile device, no matter where they are. Users can also download the free mydlinkTM SharePortTM app and turn a USB storage drive connected to the router into a private cloud storage space, without the need to buy a NAS drive or alternative storage option. This is ideal for users who want to be able to access their documents, films, photos and music on the go.
"The Wireless AC1900 router's combination of top speeds, range and bandwidth features deliver the greatest optimum wireless performance possible to the home," said Paul Routledge, Senior Business Manager, D-Link UK&I. "This means no more interrupted wireless connectivity during online gaming, streaming of HD media or other bandwidth-heavy activity. It is an exciting proposition for consumers and reinforces D-Link's commitment to delivering Wireless AC solutions for every scenario."
"Wireless AC is rapidly being adopted, but it is our mydlinkTM platform that differentiates D-Link in the market. The ability to control your network and access any file you have stored at home, at any time, on any device, is invaluable," added Routledge.
The router's Advanced AC SmartBeamTM directs the wireless signal to far or difficult to reach areas in the home so users don't have to suffer black spots, or incur the expense or inconvenience of extra cabling. In addition, the advanced Quality of Service (QoS) feature effectively distributes bandwidth and wireless traffic. When multiple mobile devices and computers are connected to the home network, users can easily prioritise them to maximise performance.
Using dual-band technology, each band can operate as a separate Wi-Fi network, so users can customise their network to match their connectivity needs. For example, configuring a guest zone to provide Internet access to visitors, without giving access to the rest of the network.
The router features two USB ports to connect storage drives and printers for sharing.
The DIR-880L is available for an RRP of £129.50
