Oct 10th 2013 - Solwise are pleased to announce a new range Xtra RangeTM from EnGenius in their indoor WiFi range. The Xtra RangeTM includes 2.4GHz versions and Dual band 2.4/5GHz versions. The dual band offerings give speeds of up to 450Mbps over 2.4GHz and 1300Mbps over 5GHz!
All versions have built-in 4 Ethernet ports for connecting home entertainment devices such as HD-TVs, Blu-ray players, set top boxes or game consoles so they can access your Internet connection.
These high-powered Xtra RangeTM pod-shaped routers also include a USB port for attaching a storage device and sharing media content in the home or away from home to mobile devices like smartphones or tablet and laptop PCs with EnShareTM - Your Personal Media Cloud.
The Xtra RangeTM have high transmit power capability which is designed to deliver extended range and expanded coverage so your family can connect more devices throughout your home. The Xtra RangeTM features wireless speeds up to 1300 Mbps and supports several security features and settings including industry standard wireless encryption, such as WPA/WPA2 (Wireless Protected Access) to prevent unauthorized access to the home network; an advanced SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) firewall to block malicious software from the Internet from accessing networked devices; MAC Address filtering to grant only known computers and devices network access; and URL filtering to block access to unwanted or offensive websites.
With the Xtra RangeTM you can also enable up to four separate and discrete SSIDs (Service Set Identifiers) or ways to access the network. This gives you the ability to offer friends or visitors Internet access or access to specific devices, like networked printers, while protecting other networked computers or hard drives in the home that may contain private information.
The Xtra RangeTM router also employs intelligent QoS (Quality of Service) to prioritize bandwidth-intensive applications like video and gaming or bandwidth sensitive applications like VoIP (Voice over IP) telephone calls for optimal connectivity whether over wired or wireless connections.
The dual radio options in the Xtra RangeTM all allow you to use both radios at the same time.
The EnGenius DDNS Service & EnShare Mobile App is available for iOS and Android. With the free EnShareTM app, Apple iPhones®, iPads® or Android mobile devices can transfer media and other files to and from a router-attached hard drive or manage the router via the Internet. A free EnGenius DDNS Account is available with each router.
