Smart Giga Business Switches enhance network monitoring and configuration with new web interface
London, UK, 17 June 2013: Buffalo Technology, the storage and wireless networking manufacturer, is simplifying network security for small and medium-sized businesses with a new range of Layer 2 Giga switches.
The flexible, scalable Web Smart Giga Business Switches, which are available with 8, 16 or 24 ports, provide network monitoring and configuration via an easy to use web-based user interface.
The devices incorporate Buffalo's Loop Guard warning system, which uses a buzzer and LED system that immediately alerts users to potential loops in a company's system - such as multiple connections between network switches or two ports on the same switch connected to each other. The devices' supported USB flash settings also enable businesses to hugely reduce downtime.
Fabien Rousseau, Product Marketing Director EMEA at Buffalo Technology, said: "Many IT administrators spend a lot of time detecting and locating problems with their networks, but our new switches eradicate this with an immediate alert and resolve process.
"Our new business switches provide SMBs with the flexibility to grow their network at the same rate as their company needs expand. The user interface enables users to simply and swiftly manage and monitor their networks, without requiring cables or additional applications."
The BSL-WS series incorporates advanced network features including VLAN, Web authentication and MAC authentication. The devices are fan-less and are cased in a small chassis that enables them to be simply mounted on a wall, desk or rack.
The Smart Giga Business Switches come with a 3-year Buffalo warranty and will be available from Buffalo's network of distributors in the UK at an MSRP of:
- 8-port: £119.99
- 16-port: £239.99
- 24-port: £299.99
