March 4th 2013 - When used together, the range of Solwise WiFi adapters make a great kit for getting WiFi into your Motorhome, Caravan or Boat. If the campsite or marina offers WiFi but your ‘van or boat is right at the other end of the site you may need something to help you get a better signal. In the Solwise USB range of hardware we offer you a variety of devices to achieve this; the Solwise ‘Rocket', the Solwise ‘2470' and the Solwise ‘Omni9' can be mounted onto your ‘van, boat, shed or portacabin using suction brackets or screws.
The USB Antenna will receive the site WiFi signal and terminate inside your ‘van or boat with a USB connector which you plug straight into your laptop.
Many people are choosing to not take laptops on holiday any more preferring the simplicity of an iPad or just using their smart-phones to keep in touch with social networking or to find local attractions. These ‘smart' devices rarely have a USB port and this is where the Solwise USB WiFi repeater comes in. The Solwise USB WiFi repeater supports outdoor USB adapters to repeat the WiFi signal to any indoor environment. The USB plug from the ‘Omni9', the ‘2470' or the ‘Rocket' is plugged into the WiFi repeater which in turn creates a mini hotspot in your ‘van or boat allowing you to connect your iPad, Smartphone, notebook, laptop or handheld games console to the campsite WiFi.
You may even be able to use free WiFi hotspots some distance away, making this kit ideal for use with the BT Fon service and other services
