Taipei, Taiwan – October 13th , 2004 – OvisLink Corporation, one of the leading total networking solution providers, announced today the new family of 108Mbps AirLive Wireless broadband products called the WL-8000AP (standalone access point solution), WL-8000PCM (PCMCIA adaptor), and WL-8000PCI (PCI card). The “8000” family features the latest advanced TI Turbo technology, that effectively doubles the wireless performance.

Unlike other competitor 108Mbps solutions, the OvisLink 802.11g+ mode allows turbo mode throughput up to 108Mbps though a single channel, making it less susceptible to interference, and one of the most stable solutions on the market today.

The WL-8000AP standalone solution implements an adjustable power output design that allows users to reduce the output power when an external booster or high gain antenna is attached for improved performance. The output power range can be adjusted from 6% to 100%.

OvisLink has focused a lot of effort into wireless security. In addition to the standard WEP encryption, the “8000” family also supports the latest WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access). The HIDE SSID (service set Identifier) feature prevents outside users from joining the network without knowing the wireless network’s ID. For wireless ISP and Hotspot providers, the WL-8000AP also provides 802.1x Radius support.

In addition to the HIDE SSID and Access Control wireless transmission security features, OvisLink also supports Multiple SSID. Therefore, a different SSIDs can be assigned to a different groups, and then access is managed correctly by simply turning on or off the various SSIDs.

The AirLive 802.11g + family provides the maximum performance and security for today’s high speed wireless networks whether in the office or home environments.
