London, UK, 10 July 2008 – Buffalo Technology has expanded its range of wireless-N Nfiniti routers with the launch of a cost-effective Gigabit Ethernet router with dual band options. The Wireless-N Nfiniti Gigabit Router & Access Point [WZR-AGL300NH] provides an affordable option for home users wanting to reap the benefits of a high-speed connection, to view and stream content.

In addition, users are also given a choice of two transmission modes to gain optimum performance. They can choose either 11n 2.4GHz with 11b/g or 11n 5GHz with 11a/b/g. This feature, coupled with the Gigabit Ethernet capability, makes it an ideal choice for those living in a city where the 2.4GHz bandwidth may become overcrowded, or those wanting to easily stream video or music without compromising user experience. It will also improve the experience for online gamers, by helping to address slow or intermittent connection problems.

Other key features and benefits include:

  • Multi-level security with multiple SSIDs, allowing a mixture of AES, TKIP or WEP encryption levels, without downgrading from the highest individual security level.
  • Fast performance of up to 300Mbps, with Jumbo Frame support
  • AirStation One-Touch Secure System™ (AOSS) and WPS to ensure easy and secure set-up.
  • WMM (WiFi Multimedia) to allow QoS settings for prioritisation of wireless data.
  • Set-up wizard and intuitive web interface for ease of use.
  • Simple switch on chassis to enable hassle-free change from router to access point.
  • Supports “LLTD” for Windows Vista. This indicates connection status and can be used for simple trouble shooting of the device.
  • DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) allows you to open a port in the firewall of the router for networked gaming or streaming playback software.

Paul Hudson, UK and Ireland Sales Director at Buffalo Technology, comments: “The need for high-speed, uninterrupted networking connections has seen the sale of Gigabit wireless-N routers increase to encompass 16 per cent of the total wireless-N market. With this new product launch, we are aiming to provide consumers with a cost-effective way to take advantage of high-speed networking, while increasing our share of the Gigabit router market.”

Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the Wireless-N Nfiniti Gigabit Router & Access Point is available now from Dabs, Systemax, Insight, PCBWD, E-Buyer, Broadband Buyer and Broadband Stuff at an estimated street price of £46.16, excluding VAT.

To accompany the router, Buffalo will also be launching a wireless keychain adapter [WLI-UC-AG300N] that will be available from August.
