11 June 2008 - Buffalo Technology has today announced the addition of a draft-n dual band Ethernet Converter (WLI-TX4-AG300N) to its extensive portfolio of wireless networking solutions, enabling users to connect wired entertainment devices to their home network without trailing wires around the home.

The Wireless-N Nfiniti Dual Band Ethernet Converter is designed to integrate wired devices, such as printers and games consoles, into a wireless network. Up to four devices can be connected to the Ethernet Converter simultaneously and with the latest wireless-n technology and dual band, even HD (high-definition) content can be streamed without interruption across a stable (IEEE802.11n draft 2.0) connection.

Kevin Vine, EMEA sales and marketing director at Buffalo, comments: “As user demand for wireless technology continues to increase and manufacturers migrate towards this format, we recognise that many users might be concerned about the previous investment they have made in wired devices. This new product protects their investment by utilising the latest technology to allow them to enjoy their multiple entertainment devices wirelessly.”

Key features include:

  • 2.4GHz/5GHz Dual Band support for less interference
  • Easy and secure wireless connections with AOSS technology
  • Wi-Fi certification to assure compatibility with any Wi-Fi certified access point
  • Support for WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia)
  • Simple Web Browser configuration - no need for drivers.

The device is also ideal for office environments where multiple wired devices need to be easily integrated into the network; and particularly for mobile work environments, such as trade fairs and exhibitions, to prevent wires being on show.

The Wireless-N Nfiniti Dual Band Ethernet Converter will be available from July at a RRP of £55.99 (inc VAT). Suppliers include Insight, Misco and PCW Business.
