The high-end notebook combines form, function and style

Bracknell, UK, June 21st 2007 – When the renowned "red dot" design awards ceremony takes place on June 25th, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will receive its first "best of the best" award for a product with the highest design quality. The LIFEBOOK Q2010, which came into the market in spring 2006, was developed with an emphasis on design. According to the jury, the designers Georg Trost and Tomohiro Takizawa achieved the perfect synthesis of form, function and style. In addition, the Pocket LOOX N100 won the "red dot" for its high level of design quality.

The "red dot design award" covers 13 product groups, such as entertainment electronics, home or office. The jury assesses the submitted products according to defined criteria such as the innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics, symbolic and emotional content and self-explanatory aspects of a product. Specialists have a high regard for the "red dot" as a seal of approval for quality design. Almost 6,000 entries from 52 countries make the "red dot" one of the largest design competitions in the world.

Barbara Schädler, Chief Marketing Officer of Fujitsu Siemens Computers says, "Design is becoming increasingly important for us when developing new products. And the LIFEBOOK Q2010 was created with design as its main focus. We wanted to design a noble, elegant notebook using high-value materials such as titanium joints and black piano lacquer finish. The 'red dot' is an important confirmation for us and very encouraging. In the future, a distinctive attractive design will make our high-end notebooks must-have products".
