Hannover, Germany, 13th March 2006 - Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) usher in a new digital dawn of ‘anywhere’ computing productivity and entertainment solutions with the launch of its simply smart H70 tablet at CeBIT 2006.

Powered by a choice of either the premium performance Intel® Pentium® M ULV 1GHZ FSB 400MHZ with a 2MB L2 on-die cache or the value Intel® Celeron® M ULV 900MHZ, FSB 400MHZ processor with a 512 KB L2 on-die cache, the ECS H70 tablet is packed with simply smart features that enrich the mobile lifestyle.

The H70’s crisp, bright 7-inch WVGA TFT LCD touch screen display delivers easy-on-the-eyes 800 x 480 resolution without compromising portability. ECS’ simply smart slip proof design also adds security to mobility. The screen doubles as an input device, offering natural handwritten input as well as easy touch screen operation by means of an included stylus.

Despite its light, slender form, (the ECS H70 is a lithe 225.5x144x.23/25 mm and weighs in at 830 grams) this tablet is packed full of well thought out work and play features. It provides both onboard Bluetooth and WiFi along with ‘grab and go’ docking for maximum connectivity. It comes with a 1.3 mega pixel camera; built-in speakers and microphone; high definition audio codec and an integrated 3-in-1 card reader.

Based on the Intel Centrino mobile platform, the ECS H70 tablet combines connectivity with state-of-the-art power saving technology. Its ultra low voltage CPU provides great performance and long battery life while eliminating overheating to deliver a comfortable handheld computing experience. DDRII technology more than doubles the effective data rate of the frontside bus delivering 30 percent better performance than DDRI while consuming less power and creating less heat even though it operates at a higher transfer rate.

The ECS H70 operates out of its docking station for upwards of two hours – depending, of course, on its hardware and software configuration.

The H70 will be available in selected markets in Q2 2006.
