rock Ships First Dual Core Notebook
London – 15th December 2005 rock are proud to announce that they are the first in the world to ship a notebook featuring dual core processor. rock shipped a quantity of their Xtreme 64 notebooks yesterday and are now working to satisfy significant back orders.
The Xtreme 64 is a desktop replacement notebook with leading edge graphics, featuring NVIDIA 6800 Ultra graphics and supports both AMD’s dual core Athlon 64 X2 and FX57 processors. These combine to deliver the ultimate in realism for today’s most demanding PC gamers, video editors and graphical designers. Dual core technology gives two processors on a single CPU allowing users to get on with their work without waiting for their system to catch up.
By integrating AMD’s dual core processors into a transportable notebook, rock has redefined the term ‘desktop replacement’. The Xtreme 64 is for those that need ultimate performance on the move and features dual hard drives for up to 240GB storage and optional dual DVD writers. The 17” screen has X-Glass as standard and is available at a super high 1920 by 1200 resolution for those involved with design or creative work.
Nick Boardman, Managing Director of rock said: “Dual Core notebooks are undoubtedly the future for those who need as much power as they can get even if they sacrifice some portability. Xtreme 64 is causing a great deal of excitement amongst our customers who haven’t previously been able to get near to this performance in a portable workstation”.
He continues: “rock is a UK specialist manufacturer in the market of manufacturing high quality notebooks. We may not be as large as Dell but this has been our business for over 14 years and we have built great relationships with suppliers which has enabled us to be the first to bring new technology to the mobile arena”.
rock has the Xtreme 64 with NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 Ultra graphics available for review immediately with NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX graphics available mid-January to further boost gaming performance.
