The FireGL Z1-128p is powered by ATI's innovative FGL(tm) 9500 Visual Processing Unit (VPU), which integrates a 128-bit floating point rendering pipeline with four geometry engines and four parallel pixel pipes. It also features 128MB of DDR memory, dual DVI output, and an AGP Pro 50 bus.
"The HP systems with ATI's FireGL Z1-128p are excellent solutions for CAD users running leading design automation applications such as Pro/ENGINEER® Wildfire, SolidWorks® and Catia®," said Dinesh Sharma, Director of Workstation Products, ATI Technologies Inc.
"ATI's FireGL Z1-128p now joins the FireGL X1-256p launched in February, extending the range of certified graphics options for HP customers," said Jim Zafarana, Vice President and Worldwide Marketing Manager, HP Workstation Global Business Unit. "HP's IA-32 based workstations combined with ATI's FireGL accelerators are designed to provide the power, reliability and image quality required by professional users on both Windows and Linux operating systems."
In addition to full WHQL certification, the FireGL line is certified for the leading CAD, DCC, AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) CFD (computational fluid dynamics), and visual simulation applications.
The large frame buffers of the FireGL line are designed to drive dual DVI-I displays or dual analog displays at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 per screen. In addition, quad-buffered stereo 3D is supported on the FireGL X1-256p.
