PRESS RELEASE

CeBIT, Hannover, March 2007, Hall 21, Stand A16 – Asetek, the market leader of thermal management solutions for semiconductors, releases a new series of cooling solutions for GPU and graphics cards. The solutions will be show cased at CeBIT at Asetek’s stand and the World Cyber Game area, Hall 22, Stand A1.

Graphics power is constantly increasing and thermal management of graphics board is an increasing challenge. As a natural consequence noise is a growing concern at both OEM and end user level.

This new series of cooling solutions from Asetek will work with its integrated Low Cost Liquid Cooling series of products and is based upon proprietary IP. The graphics coolers features hybrid technology where memory and power supply modules are cooled by forced convection and heat pipes, where the GPU is cooled by a liquid based cold plate.

The systems have a life span of 50.000 hours, meets OEM expectations to reliability, shock vibration etc., and is applicable on both ATI and nVIDIA graphics boards.

Compared to an OEM stock cooler the Asetek graphics card cooler will provide approximately 15˚C lower temperatures on both memory and GPU providing excellent margins for higher clock speeds and lower noise. Even in hot ambient conditions the noise level will never exceed 30 dB(A).

“As thermal management in a computer has become more of a system approach, rather than just a hot CPU issue, I’m proud to announce our natural successor to our CPU liquid cooling.

Due to great efforts from our engineering team we have been able to develop a great product that provides value for both the OEM and the end user.

Acoustics and thermal management of graphics boards is an increasing concern for gamers and CAD. Fortunately the OEM’s agree and I’m glad to announce that a number of OEM’s will use our solution in the future” Says CEO of Asetek, André S. Eriksen.

The new solutions are sampling to graphics board and computer OEM’s now and are available in volume May 1st 2007.

:D
That sounds somewhat more refined I think :)
Pics?
Unfortunately the release was not accompanied by any images, however it does indicate that the solutions will be on display at CeBIT, hence the HEXUS.net Team will undoubtedly report back with more information and some images too.
