QOTW: How many cores does your desktop CPU have?

The last time we asked this question, six-core CPUs were a novelty. How times have changed. Fast forward to 2021 and the very best consumer parts pack an astonishing 16 cores and 32 threads, while those on a more modest budget can pick up eight-core 65W solutions from either AMD or Intel for under Ā£300.

We'd imagine plenty of HEXUS readers went ahead and upped their core/thread count in recent years, so let's see where we're at by asking: how many cores does your desktop CPU have? Going by the answers to last week's question, we reckon most folk will have fewer cores than they do fans!

i7 9700K - 8 cores, 8 threads.
I have an i7-6900K with 8 cores / 16 threads
The wife has an i9-7940X with 14 cores / 28 threads
i7 9700k so 8 cores 8 threads
@Hexus if you make this a poll we can see the distribution

12 proper full-fat cores, 24 threads.
4/8 in my other machines
I have a mini box with 8/16 on order (at this rate it'll be obsolete by the time it arrives)
