Did you even know that Nintendo were still backing the NES in terms of hardware support? We didn't. Well, if your beloved machine does break from October 31st onwards you'll be sorely disappointed to hear that Nintendo of Japan won't be there to nurse it back to health. Twenty-Two years after making its debut, the NES will no longer be supported by its creators. You won't be surprised to hear that they've made this decision due to parts becoming increasingly difficult to get hold off.

Nintendo of Japan has also revealed that they'll be dropping their support for the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gameboy, and Gameboy Pocket lines.We've been reminded that this isn't the end to our retro fun if our old machines do break, as via the Wii Virtual download service we can still pick up most of the arcade classics we know and love. It's not the same though, is it?
