Turn Your Phone into the most up-to-date GPS SatNav with Wayfinder Navigator 7

There can't be an easier, more cost effective way to join the SatNav revolution than using your own mobile device with Wayfinder Navigator 7 software and a Bluetooth GPS receiver

London, April 17th 2007 - No matter where you are in Europe or North America, if you have your mobile to hand you will be able to find your way to any destination or up to one of 20 million Points of Interests including restaurants, ATMs, hotels etc. And at just €99 for a lifetime's subscription to the UK and Ireland database, Wayfinder Navigator 7 saves you both time and money.

Wayfinder Navigator 7 is the latest version of the award-winning Wayfinder software first launched in 2003 as an all-in-one answer to mobile phone users, giving voice, graphical and map turn-by-turn directions from A to B.

The system provides one of the easiest ways to use SatNav guidance as there's no extra product or memory card to remember, and because map data is streamed from a central server, users always have access to the latest, most up-to-date information that can even take the current traffic situation into account.

Wayfinder Navigator 7 adds a number of new features to the Navigator series including 3D maps, a new night mode to adapt the colour and brightness of the screen, an increased selection of POI's - now 20 million across North America and Europe – additional content from Info America and a new - patent applied for - Power Search facility.

Quicker downloads and improved usability help to make the Navigator a stress-free tool, suitable for office or personal use. Navigator 7's new Power Search facility requires the user to only enter two fields – such as name and city – to perform an intelligent search. And because Wayfinder Navigator 7 streams its information from a server, the Power Search function is not restricted to the one database supplied with a product.

Searches are dynamic and 'intelligent' because they take into account: current location, desired country, user profile capabilities, user profile preferences and all databases available to the user – both local and remote. Results are then presented in categories so that the user can easily identify where they originate from.

Wayfinder will ensure that users have as much information as possible about their desired destination. New locations and information can also be sent to colleagues or friends by SMS, MMS or email and information such as phone numbers and web links can be saved under Favourites.

In addition to having access to over 20 million POIs, subscribers will also be able to take advantage of impressive features such as the 3D maps in addition to the conventional, birds-eye-view maps. The 3D images allow the user to view the map the way they view their surroundings, making navigation easier and more realistic.

Whenever necessary, routes are automatically recalculated to give users the quickest way to their destination and the introduction of a night mode adapts the color and light strength of the screen, helping to make driving in the dark safer and easier on the eyes. Wayfinder's Consumer studies indicated that 73 per cent of people find a bright screen disturbing when driving at night.

Wayfinder Navigator 7 is sure to prove a popular choice and joins the market as the sales of navigation products enjoy rapid growth.

Increased business and leisure travel has spurned an interest and need in being able to get from A to B as smoothly as possible. The amount spent by consumers on mobile navigation hardware and software solutions for 2006 in EMEA was €4.7bn, an increase of 58% compared to 2005 when just under €3bn was spent. In 2007, the high-tech market analysis providers Canalys estimate that €6.4bn will be spent, an increase of 36% compared to 2006.

"We're very excited about the coming months and proud of our technological advances and what we can offer our customers in comparison to our competitors" says Magnus Nilsson, Wayfinder CEO.

With regularly updated maps, turn-by-turn voice instructions and visual guidance, Wayfinder can offer a navigation product that is as technologically sophisticated as it is stylish and compact. Not surprisingly, it has been awarded with a Handango Champion Award and was voted the Best GPS Solution by the Swedish mobile magazine Mobil.

Wayfinder Navigator 7 is supported in 17 languages and will be available from mid April 2007.
