Robbery thwarted by gamer with Samurai Sword
A Florida teenager loved his PS3 so much he was willing to defend it from a would-be robber by brandishing a Samurai sword, leaping off his bed and delivering a blow that caused that thief to flee in panic. The youth didn't give up there, but chased the two thieves down the street, where one of them was eventually arrested by local police.
Damian Fernandez and his sister, Deanne Fernandez were at home when burglars broke into their house, stole some jewelery and went on the hunt for their prized Sony console. According to a local news website:
The burglar found the empty PlayStation 3 box and ran out of the room, but Damian was waiting for him.
"Once I saw him take off running back, I jumped off my (bunk) bed and I grabbed my sword … and I just waited for him," said Damian. Damian said he lunged at him with his samurai sword, striking him in the chest. "He freaked out," Damian said.
We're not surprised! The foolish thief will surely think twice before he enters someone else's property in the future.
The arrested robber faces three felony charges and appears in court in two weeks time.
