Although there's no official confirmation from Nintendo, French gaming website,Impact Virtuel, claim that they plied a Nintendo rep with enough drinks for him to reveal the date of the highly anticipated console.

It seems that Nintendo is planning to launch the Wii at the start of November. In fact, it could come out in Japan near October the 30th and only ten days after in the USA and Europe.

Of course they don't name the drunken blabbermouth so the information is highly questionable, and boozy chat hardly constitutes hardcore fact.

Previous rumours have suggested that Wii will have an October 18th launch date to coincide with the anniversary of the launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System in the U.S.

Whatever the case, it's looking as though Wii will launch before the PS3, which is set for a November 11th release in Japan.
