MUNICH, 8th December 2005 - Destinator, one of the leading European suppliers of GPS-based personal navigation software, today announced that it has increased its market share in Europe in Q3 2005, shipping 55 percent more units than in the previous quarter, according to Canalys, the leading independent market research company.

Canalys also reported that the growth of the European navigation market increased by 27% in the 3rd quarter 2005. With a growth rate twice that of the market, Destinator has been able to move from 5th to 3rd place in the PNA (Personal Navigation Assistant) sector and remains in 2nd place in the PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) sector. PDAs and PNAs make up the vast majority of all personal navigation software sold in Europe.

“In the global market Destinator closed the gap on second place in the third quarter, and is actively signing new partners,” said Chris Jones, Director and Senior Analyst at Canalys. Overall European mobile navigation software shipments in Q3 2005 reached more than 1.9 million units, an increase of 27 percent in comparison to Q2.” Canalys also reported that Destinator occupies 2nd place in the market in Italy, Spain and France and 3rd place in the UK and Germany.

To support this growth and with predicted turnover for 2005 set to surpass 150% compared to last year, the European headquarters recently moved to new premises in Munich. As part of the process of international expansion Destinator Europe GmbH, was renamed Destinator Technologies GmbH on November 28th, 2005 to unify the brand globally, bringing it in line with its American parent company, Destinator Technologies.
