The VIA VT1622 digital TV encoder enables the display of digital information on regular analog television sets as well as the new generation of standard definition digital televisions (SDTV). Providing a high quality, flicker-free viewing experience across the key global video standards NTSC and PAL, the VIA VT1622 is a high performance TV encoder designed to convert non-interlaced graphics data into multiple TV output formats. Incorporated in the VIA VT1622 is the VIA-developed ProScale(tm) multi-resolution scaler, which adjusts the digital signal input to fit the television screen and supports input resolutions up to a high quality 1024x768. The built-in deflicker filter ensures smooth image reproduction of the interlaced output signal and maintains the sharpness of the picture on the TV screen; both of these features enhance the performance of an Information Appliance linking digital input to a television, positioning this video solution at the regular and high end of the set top box and Digital Video Disk (DVD) player markets.
