Boy's Record label
Creative (Nasdaq: CREAF) the world-wide leader in digital entertainment
products for the personal computer and the Internet, has announced the use
of their award winning DAP Jukebox within Manchester's newly opened Cord
Bar. Located in the heart of the city's music scene, the venue bar provides
a modern twist to the traditional pub, and is nestled amongst celebrated
record companies such as Paper Recordings, Factory Records, Fat City, Grand
Central, Pleasure Recordings and Twisted Nerve.
The DAP Jukebox, which is the size of a portable CD player can be found
secured on the bar and within easy reach, allowing the public to choose any
track they desire, out of a selection of up to 150 albums worth of high
quality music. It has simple controls, a large memory for a broad range of
music tastes and a play list control, enabling punters to simply add/queue a
song whenever they want. Weighing only 400 grams, the Jukebox is encased
in
silver and blue and is at the forefront of stylish digital audio players,
earning a place in the London Design Museum when it was first launched.
One of the first events held at Cord Bar was the album launch of the
exciting new band Alfie, signed to Mercury Music Prize winning Badly Drawn
Boy's record label Twisted Nerve. They exclusively demo-ed the new album on
the Creative Labs DAP Jukebox. Following the success of the launch Simon
Cooper, Cord Bar's founder, hopes other artists will follow suit, using
Creative's groundbreaking technology in the comfort of Cord Bar unique
surroundings.
