Google is celebrating a milestone today with the announcement that 10 billion apps have now been downloaded from the Android Market.

To pass on some of the good fortune to its customers, the Android store is now awash with bargains and many apps have been knocked down in price to as little as 10p. Current offers include Asphalt 6 HD, Minecraft Pocket Edition, SwiftKey X Keyboard, SketchBook Mobile and Paper Camera.

"One billion is a pretty big number by any measurement. However, when it's describing the speed at which something is growing, it's simply amazing," said Eric Chu, Google's director of Android developer ecosystem, via the Google blog.

"This past weekend, thanks to Android users around the world, Android Market exceeded 10 billion app downloads-with a growth rate of one billion app downloads per month. We can't wait to see where this accelerating growth takes us in 2012."

Selected apps will be available at a low price for the next 10 days. Check out what's on offer at the Android Market.

Got Minecraft Pocket for 10p, winning!
Wow these apps are a steal at that price especially Soundhound and Swiftkey X. I can't wait to see what other apps turn up in the next 9 days.

Bought pretty much all of them at that price, stunning offer.

My only complaint is, as HTC insist on the free version of Soundhound being un-uninstallable, I now have both it and the unlimited version on my phone as individual, separate apps. :puke:
Soundhound, Swiftkey X, Endomondo sports tracker and minecraft so far, any other suggestions?
