Mobile network operator Three has relaunched its SIM only pay monthly contracts with tweaks to the balances between minutes, texts and data that many smartphone users may find attractive. These SIM only contracts are available as 12 month contracts and as month-by-month contracts at a slightly higher fee due to the shorter commitment.
Here’s a table of the allowances and prices;

In addition Three offers a Blackberry SIM only (50 mins/5000 texts/500MB at £9.90pm) and the well known One Plan SIM only (2000 mins/5000 texts/All you can eat data at £25pm). All these contracts can be capped so you don’t accidentally go over your allowances and get stung for it.

These tariff tweaks were announced today on the Three Blog and are, according to the company, “SIM plans built for the internet”. The blog also reveals that SIM only deals have become a lot more popular in the last couple of years “the popularity of SIM plans has grown by 34% in 24 months”. That might be something to do with networks pushing for longer 24 month contracts for SIM + phone contracts.
Also there have been some stunning SIM only deals on HotUKDeals which, if the cashback companies pay out reliably, can give you a decent amount of minutes/data/texts for very little per month. SIM-only interested people please check out this constantly updated and hottest ever thread on HUKD (updated most recently Tuesday 14th Aug, so doesn’t include these new Three SIM deals).
So Three have a pretty good new range of SIM only offerings as shown above in the features table. If you get a good Three signal where you live/work/wander it might be worth considering these new deals on offer if one hits your usage/price sweet spot.
