As it turns out it’s not actually a tool for jailbreaking your device, but a game by software developer Rilisoft. Nonetheless, the app is very deceiving and clearly aimed at getting cash (£6.99) from unsuspecting punters hoping to remove the limitations imposed by Apple on their iOS devices.
Indeed, it looks like one person has already been caught out. The first review of the app reads…”That’s not fair…I thought it’s legal jailbreak, not a game.”
With no details at all in the description that ‘Jailbreak” is a game, it’s very likely other people will get sucked in to by this obvious attempt to exploit those looking to circumvent their Apple products. Surely it won’t be long before the iPad maker comes along and either takes this app off iTunes completely, or at least demands that Rilisoft adds to its description.
If anyone does actually play it, let us know if it's any good.
Update: Apple has obviously been on the case. The app has been updated with screenshots from the game and a description.
