Google's pleased too

Although Apple has not quite gone the whole hog, its move has generally been well received and It's not only Adobe that is please about Apple's more relaxed rules.

Google's Mobile Ads Blog said developers can now use a variety of advertising solutions including Google's and AdMob's tools to earn some cash.

"Apple's new terms will keep in-app advertising on the iPhone open to many different mobile ad competitors and enable advertising solutions that operate across a wide range of platforms," said Omar Hamoui, VP of product management at Google.

"This is great news for everyone in the mobile community, as we believe that a competitive environment is the best way to drive innovation and growth in mobile advertising," he added.
