Message me
Microsoft has rolled out its popular Windows Live Messenger as afree iPhone app. The application hosts the same features as its established PC peer, enabling users to instant-message with multiple friends, saving on texts. As per the Windows counterpart, users can view chat history, use emoticons and send a ‘nudge’ to a friend who isn’t responding, as well as share links and photos using Instant Message.
Microsoft confirms that Live Messenger takes advantage of the multitasking capabilities of the new iOS4, released today.
The app includes a handy push notification of new chats, alerting iPhone owners to a new IM when they are not interacting with the application.

Live Messenger also acts as a route for users to access their Hotmail account, plus read, reply-to and compose emails, without having to leave the app. IM addicts can also receive email alerts within the application so they know if they are missing out on new instant messages.
Microsoft has aligned the app more closely with social networking sites, so users can view the updates their messenger friends are sharing from the likes of Facebook, Flickr and MySpace.
The application also supports photo uploads from the phone, allowing IM fans to create albums, add captions and invite comments from friends and family.
