It’s a date
LG's Optimus 3D handset has been spotted on Expansys' UK website.
The world's first 3D smartphone is available to pre-order from the website for a PAYG price of £514.99 with a release date of 25 April.
HEXUS was suitably impressed with the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset, which does not need users to wear 3D glasses to see its screen in its entire three dimensional glory. The phone sports a built-in HDMI port, 8GB of memory and 5MP camera too.
As well as a comprehensive list of the phone's spec, the Expansys website reveals what comes in the box: the handset, battery, USB mains charger, microUSB data cable, stereo hands free and quick start guide.
Expansys said: "In an instant every other 2D display no matter how good looks dated. Wisely LG haven't tried to apply a "3D" skin to Android, everything behaves on the phone as you expect in 2D. However as the twin camera's on the back hint at, its at multimedia where the 3D story comes into play. You can shoot photos or videos in 3D and view them back in 3D on the phone... The LG Optimus 3D is the first in what will be a wave of phones with 3D displays."
