Online Everywhere

We can’t leave this review without talking about Online Everywhere, EA’s new service that will allow you to watch live football scores, news and podcasts. You will have to sign your life away to EA to have the privilege, but for anyone that has live access it is a must. You can also take part in the interactive league where you’ll play your favourite teams actual fixtures during a two day window in the lead up to their actual match. The great thing about this feature is that it’s extremely likely that you’ll actually be playing against a fan of that actual club which will mean some fierce competition, and a lot of abuse! You’ll also be able to see who else supports your club and join them in a lobby for a chat

This is how the interactive league works:

You choose a team, for example Arsenal. If Arsenal are playing Tottenham on the weekend you’ll be able to join a Tottenham fan to play the match. While you’re playing this match it’s likely that there are hundreds of other Arsenal fans playing Tottenham as well. If you win the match you gain one vote and the team with the most votes at the end of the two days will gain the three points.

There could be a few problems with this system. For example, they’ll be hundreds of people that choose the top clubs and those lesser supported teams will have few players. Therefore it’s likely that if you’re a Man Utd fan and you’re playing Bolton on Saturday you may not get to play your game. For those who support lower division teams like Walsall, will we be able to find an Accrington Stanley fan online? It’s too early to predict all the potential flaws in the service but it’s a great idea and we really hope it works well.

There’s no doubt in our mind that FIFA 07 is the best of the series. Improved passing, flowing matches, better A.I., great options and game modes make it overall a more believable football experience. We’ll still be picking up Pro Evo, but from this day forth we’re also FIFA fans!

Pros
Improved gameplay make for a more realistic experience
Play as any team
Tons of modes
Online Everywhere

Cons
Tricks are clumsy

Improved gameplay makes for a solid performance for FIFA 07, the best so far.
