Final thoughts

Furthermore, the twelve maps are graphically just as impressive as the single player campaign, with a variety of iconic locations such as the financial district of Wall Street, or the Statue of Liberty, providing a plethora of tactical options. All levels are multi-tiered too, so there’s plenty of opportunity to use your ledge grabbing skills to find vantage points to snipe from, or get up close and personal by hiding in the shadows with stealth and jumping out on your opponents. With more downloadable map packs on the horizon, there's no reason not to believe that Crysis 2's rewarding online multiplayer will be jammed to the rafters with players in months to come.

Having reveled in the intensity and high-octane gameplay of Killzone 3 only recently, Crysis 2’s single player experience feels very average in comparison. However, it does have its moments and getting an eagle-eye view over some of the glorious looking environments before flicking your visor on and deciding how to tackle them can be quite an exciting proposition. However, it feels like the nanosuit and tactical options that it gives you were specifically built with multiplayer in mind. As such, the single player experience is quite a forgettable one. Jump online, however, and there's some exciting tactical battles that await, complete with some of the most stunning locations you'll ever see in a videogame, great weapons and a system that consistently rewards you for your efforts.
