10/10, right?

After completing Killzone 2, I’ve racked my brains to think of anything really negative to say about the experience and I have come up with a couple of things. I lost sight of the storyline quite early on. All I really knew (and was interested in) was that I was fighting the Helghast until I found their leader. Also, despite an entertaining conclusion to the tale, when you come face to face with Visari and it's left nicely open for Killzone 3, I also found the final boss battle against the disappearing Radec to be a bit of a disappointment and a repetitive slog. Finally, there’s no co-op mode. Killzone 2 looks like it was made for co-op and it would have been a brilliant addition. Nevertheless, with a comprehensive multiplayer mode, there's still plenty of replay value.

It’s these few points that prevent me giving Killzone 2 a perfect 10/10 score, but you shouldn't hold them against it, you'd be foolish to miss this powerful shooter. Killzone 2 is impressive technical feat, a glorious looking game and the finest shooter to have ever graced the PS3. Sony wanted a system seller - and alongside Metal Gear Solid 4 - you've now got at least two great reasons to pick one up.

Pros
Brilliant atmosphere
Looks and sounds amazing
Action-packed and intense
Great weapon handling
Perfectly paced gameplay
AI put up a great challenge
Intuitive lean and peak cover system

Cons
No co-op play
Shaky script and storyline

Everything you'd ever want from a first person shooter.
