It's going to take patience and time

It wasn’t long before we started to find our range and of passing and shooting as we soon realised that taking on three or four players at a time is not quite as straight forward as before. We were knocking the ball left, right and centre to spread the play and create space for players to run into. The work rate needed to create that scoring opportunity has took a significant shift and the balance between defending and attacking play is almost spot-on, and although we do think that some people won’t like the change, it’s just going to be a matter of time before Pro Evo fans fit into the new system.

Pulling off tricks is just as fluid as ever before, but you’ll need to be much more precise when executing the 360 roulette, because if you the lose the ball, the opposition will pass and react far quicker than before and all of a sudden you’ll be back tracking in order to stop the counter attack. We couldn’t see any changes to free-kicks so you’ll still need to be very skilful in order to score and penalties are still are rather dull affair. The goalkeepers are still as poor as ever and a number of back passes that we made were fumbled, almost resulting in the other side stealing an embarrassing goal

We’ll still be adding Pro Evo 6 to our game collection, even though our expectations haven’t quite been exceeded. To be honest we’d have been quite happy with the same game as last time with some visual enhancements and improved goalkeepers, but what we’ve actually got is a more difficult, slower game with few visual improvements and goalies that still don’t have the confidence to collect a cross and keep hold of it. We didn’t quite have enough hands-on time to be able to appreciate the changes to the gameplay, but the bottom line is that Konami are constantly striving to make the beautiful game more realistic. Whether they’ve done this or not we’re undecided. We’re going to reserve judgement until we’ve had time to play it more.

Review coming soon…

Not a bad thing tbh.

Sounds like the gameplay improvements are making it more realistic…which is much better :)

Yeah, sort of agree, although I did love playing as Henry and taking on the whole team, but yep it's certainly more realistic if you can't do that anymore.
You have no idea how much my mates used to hate me for “wiggling up the pitch” :p

 I had to promise not to play as Arsenal online cos I'd always run straight up the pitch weaving around the opposition.

Or Owen - cr@p tho he undoubtedly is now - was an absolute legend on PES!

After playing it for so long we all got so good at it that you HAD to pass loads to even get near the goal :)
