Consumer choice or consumer rip-off?

Barely a week after the launch of Guitar Hero II on the Xbox 360, new tracks have been released on the Xbox live marketplace. I love the Guitar Hero franchise, but the game and the guitar controller already retail at £69.99. I understand we have a choice here whether to download the new tracks or not, but £4.25 a pop for only three songs seems a bit excessive to say the least.

These packs are now available for download:

Pack One:
Hey you by the Exies
Bark at the Moon by Ozzy Osbourne
Ace of Spades by Motorhead

Pack Two:
Take it off by the Donnas
Frankenstein by the Edgar Winter Group
Killer Queen by Queen.

Pack Three:
Higher Ground by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Stellar by Incubus
Infected by Bad Religion

I'm sure if you could afford the initial outlay then £12.75 may not seem so bad, but I'd just like to see whoever is behind charges for minimal or poor quality marketplace products, reward consumers from time to time for spending so much on their products.

Yup - it's a rip, but I'd consider the base pack a complete rip at £70 - you could almost get a DSlite for that money.
As soon as the market doesn't buy it.

If it sells, it'll continue.

Totally agree was gonna buy it until i saw the price its twice as much as the PS2 version.
On a side note, you have the pack details wrong. You've quoted Ace Of Spades being in both pack 1 and 2…

But yeah, it is a rip off. As for £70 for the game, I don't think it's that bad whrn the regular game rrp is £50 and you have the guitar with it. It's certainly not cheap, but it could have been worse.

Thanks, it's Killer Queen in pack two. Love the solo on that!
