Gaming bloggers, Unscripted 360 claim they have discovered documentation that points towards an upcoming program from Microsoft which will award gamers for completing achievement points.

The rumour claims that sponsors will be awarding prizes for completing certain difficult acheivements!

TeamXbox contacted Microsoft who wouldn't comment on the rumour, but they did say," What we can tell you is that Xbox is always exploring ideas for how we can reward our loyal customers. As soon as we have anything new to share, we will definitely let you know."

Achievement points are awarded for the completion of game-specific challenges, such as beating a level or amassing a specified number of wins against other players in Xbox Live matches. The majority of mass-market Xbox 360 games offer up to 1000 points spread over a variable number of Achievements and each Xbox Live Arcade contains 12 achievements that total 200 points. We'd guess that, if the rumours are true, then the prizes will only be dished out for those achievements that are virtually impossible to complete.
