No, Microsoft haven't announced a new HD with a larger storage capacity to solve the problems of storing those TV shows and films that we'll be downloading on November 22nd, but instead have a 'unique' and ingenious solution that will allow us increase our space by another 20GB.
Microsoft are still denying that a larger HD will be available next year so instead they have suggested that we go out and buy another Xbox 360 HD, now why didn't we think of that?
Product marketing manager, Aaron Greenberg, had been interviewed by GamersReports.com and gave the following advice: “I can tell you what people tell me they do to get around this. What they do is they put their Live account on a memory unit and then they have one hard drive that they put their games or related content on, and then they have another drive that they put their movies and TV on.”
Greenberg dismissed the 20GB Xbox 360 as being too small to download movies onto by saying that we should be able to store approximately 15 hours of standard definition content or 5 hours of high definition content. He also played down the fact that the small storage space is an issue and confirmed that Microsoft are trying to work around the issue by saying that, “The movies are designed so that you watch them and then delete them, so we figure those aren’t really something that’s going to take up space.“With TV shows, if you ever have to delete one, you can always re-download it again. So as much as we can, we’re trying to work within the space confinements.”
